Tottori Green Hotel Morris Review (Room & Breakfast)

Throughout the years, I have stayed in a number of business hotels in Japan. Tottori Green Hotel Morris is definitely one of the best hotels so far. No wonder it is ranked as the No. 1 hotel in Tottori Prefecture by TripAdvisor. Is it worth the hype? Let's find out...

1. Good Location

Tottori Green Hotel Morris is only 2 minutes away from JR Tottori Station (North Gate) on foot.



When you enter the main entrance of Tottori Green Hotel Morris, you're welcomed by potted landscapes and plants. There are a number of paintings and beautiful sculptures near the entrance. The atmosphere is very exotic and relaxing.





The lobby is decorated with warm lighting, sofa, wicker chairs and green plants. There is a computer and printer available for use at the lobby. Maps and timetable for buses in Tottori are also available near the check in counter.

You can also find vending machines for tobacco, instant noodles, snacks and drinks at the lobby.



The hotel is capable of meeting the needs of business travelers, families, female guests and young travelers. It has a conference room and a smoking area at an isolated area of the hotel.

Also, there is a room full with comic books. The comic books lending service is provided free of charge. There are also free newspaper and children's book for loan.



In addition, female guests can borrow beauty equipment from the check in counter. It include steamed face machine to prevent drying of the skin and curling iron. I borrowed the eye warming massager and an ionity hair brush. It is very convenient to have hair styling tools in hand when you're backpacking or traveling light.

2. Spacious Room

Like most business hotels, it has pillows of different sizes and materials for you to choose from. Every morning, newspaper (in Japanese) would be placed near the door of your hotel room.



The room is very spacious. There is even a wardrobe to hang your clothing. You can bring that bathing robe and a towel to the public bath.

As usual, shampoo, rinse and body wash are provided along with blue pajamas.

3. Abundant Buffet Breakfast

Breakfast is provided from 6:30 am to 10:00 am. It is around 550 yen with tax for those staying in Tottori Green Hotel Morris. The curry rice here is highly recommended. The breakfast buffet covers curry rice, congee, miso soup, grilled fish, a healthy mix of salad, scrambled eggs, sauage and fruit juice.

4. Large Public Bath & Steaming Room

This is absolutely one of the reasons why I love this hotel. To access to the public bath, you'll need to bring your key card. The public baths are separated by gender.

Inside the public bath area, you can find lockers, massage chairs, water, scrubbing towel, hairdryer and various amenities.

There is even a steaming room inside! Personally I enjoy the sauna room more than the public bath. There is a relaxing natural smell of wood inside the steam room.

5. Good Restaurants Nearby

It can be tricky finding restaurants near Tottori at night. Don't worry. There are several places that you can have dinner near the hotel. For instance, the ramen shop nearby is famous for its bone marrow soup base.

If you prefer something fancier, Izakaya is a good choice. Izakaya are Japanese pubs where you can enjoy large mugs of beer and eat local specialty dishes. We had 4 dishes and 3 drinks at the Izakaya below and it cost around 5000 yen (for 3 persons).

6. Close to the Supermarket

Tottori Green Morris Hotel is close to Daimaru, a supermarket and department store. It is nice to grab some snacks and drink on your way to take the bus or JR.



Alternatively, you can try purchasing one of these special bento inside JR Tottori Station. This shop is often crowded with people. The crab meat bento (1080 yen) is highly recommended if you're going to have lunch on the train.





Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Tottori Green Hotel Morris. It's likely for us to visit again next time when we're travelling to this area!
